Online Seminar „Rashism/Ruscism – Is Russia Fascist?”

The online seminar of the series “Historians and the War: Rethinking the Future” will take place on June 23, Thursday, at 18:00-20:00 CET. The aim of the series is to discuss if and to what extent the war in Ukraine is changing our perception of the past and which new questions for historians it raises.

The fourth seminar is titled “Rashism/Ruscism – Is Russia Fascist?” and is held in Ukrainian and English with simultaneous translation. The speakers will be:
– Marlene Laruelle, Elliott School of International Affairs, The George Washington University (Washington DC, USA)
– Oleksandr Zaitsev, Ukrainian Catholic University (Lviv, Ukraine)
– Roger Griffins, Oxford Brookes University (Oxford, UK)
– Andreas Umland, Stockholm Centre for Eastern European Studies (SCEEUS) at the Swedish
Institute of International Affairs (Stockholm, Sweden)

The panel will be chaired by Kai Struve, Martin Luther University (Halle, Germany). After introductory remarks by the panellists, the audience will have the possibility to ask questions and to participate in the discussion.
