The cultural turn of the 1980s introduced some of the most important developments to history as a discipline, resulting in a wave of revisionist histories, the emergence of new fields of inquiry, and the development of new methodologies and approaches. What are the implications of all of these new ways of writing history to those studying diplomacy and politics, long considered traditional and elitist topics? In this seminar, we will discuss new historiographical trends, and identify what lies ahead in the writing of the new international and diplomatic history.
