The debate will be held as a part of the ‘Genealogies of Memory’ project, which this year takes place within the Memory Studies Association (MSA) annual conference. The session will present two quite different points of views on the recent and present memory politics and memory policies in Europe. Ivan Krastev and Marek Cichocki, from either liberal, or conservative positions, will discuss the political aspects of memories, bringing in both, the EU/European context, as well as the regional Central-East European perspective.
