Međunarodna konferencija “100 Years Since the October Revolution: What can the Right Learn From the Left?”
Međunarodna konferencija održat će se u subotu, 9. prosinca 2017. na Hrvatskom katoličkom sveučilištu u Zagrebu, u organizaciji Udruge “Repressija” (Zagreb) i Književnog kluba “Plamen” (Kijev).

Čast nam je pozvati Vas na međunarodnu konferenciju pod nazivom “100 Years Since the October Revolution: What Can the Right Learn From the Left?” u organizaciji Udruge “Repressija” (Zagreb, Hrvatska) i Književnog kluba “Plamen” (Kijev, Ukrajina). Konferencija će se održati u subotu, 9. prosinca 2017. u dvorani “Bl. Alojzije Stepinac” na Hrvatskom katoličkom sveučilištu u Zagrebu (Ilica 242, ulaz iz Domobranske ulice), s početkom u 11:00 sati.
Ove godine Europa obilježava 100. godišnjicu Oktobarske revolucije. Na političkoj desnici postoji, više ili manje opravdana, jaka odbojnost spram ljevičarskih ideja utjelovljenih u Revoluciji. Takvi negativni stavovi obično vode besplodnoj ignoranciji prema bilo čemu vezanom uz političku ljevicu. Mi, Udruga “Repressija” i Književni klub “Plamen”, željeli bismo uništiti tu barijeru, smatrajući ovu priliku korisnom za ozbiljnu raspravu o lijevim teorijama i praksama iz desne perspektive. Takve rasprave, kako mi to vidimo, mogu pomoći političkoj desnici da promisli svoju kritiku liberalnog društva te razvije nove političke i kulturne strategije za nadolazeće krize u Europi.

International conference “100 Years Since the October Revolution: What Can the Right Learn From the Left?”
This year Europe commemorates 100th anniversary of the October Revolution. Among political Right there is – more or less justified – strong aversion toward left-wing ideas embodied by the Revolution. Such negative attitudes usually lead to sterile ignorance of anything associated with the political Left. We, Association “Repressija” (Croatia) and Literary Club “Plomin’” (Ukraine), would like to break this barrier, considering the occasion to be opportune for serious discussion about left-wing theories and practices from a right-wing perspective. Such discussion, as we find it, can help political Right to rethink its critique of liberal society and to develop new political and cultural strategies for upcoming crisis in Europe.
The conference will be held at the Croatian Catholic University in Zagreb (Ilica 242, entrance from Domobranska Street), in the Bl. Alojzije Stepinac Hall. The working language of the conference is English.
