U Njemačkom povijesnom muzeju u Berlinu održava se od 27. ožujka do 18. listopada 2020. godine izložba “Hannah Arendt i 20. stoljeće” koja nam može biti zanimljiva ne samo zbog Hanne Arendt nego i kao poticaj za slične tematske izložbe o intelektualcima i intelektualkama te grupama intelektualaca.

Hannah Arendt and the Twentieth Century

The twentieth century simply cannot be understood without Hannah Arendt, wrote the author Amos Elon. Arendt significantly influenced two concepts that are essential for the understanding of the twentieth century: “totalitarianism” and the “banality of evil”. Arendt’s insights were rarely left unchallenged.
The exhibition “Hannah Arendt and the Twentieth Century” aims to trace Arendt’s observations on contemporary history and introduce to the public a life and work that mirrors the history of the twentieth century: totalitarianism, anti-Semitism, the situation of refugees, the Eichmann trial in Jerusalem, the political system and the racial segregation in the U. S., the student movement and feminism. Arendt frequently expressed her views on current events as a public intellectual, often sparking fierce controversy.
As the exhibition will show this diagnostic appraisal makes the question of the power of judgement particularly urgent today against the backdrop of pluralization, the accelerated change in values and growing populism.

Das 20. Jahrhundert sei ohne Hannah Arendt gar nicht zu verstehen, meinte der Schriftsteller Amos Elon. Arendt prägte maßgeblich zwei für die Beschreibung dieses Jahrhunderts zentrale Begriffe: „Totale Herrschaft“ und „Banalität des Bösen“. Dabei blieben ihre Urteile selten unwidersprochen.
Die Ausstellung „Hannah Arendt und das 20. Jahrhundert“ ermöglicht es, einem subjektiven Blick auf das 20. Jahrhundert zu folgen und ein Leben – und Werk – kennenzulernen, in dem sich die Geschichte des 20. Jahrhunderts spiegelt: Totalitarismus, Antisemitismus, die Lage von Flüchtlingen, der Eichmann-Prozess, der Zionismus, das politische System und die Rassentrennung in den USA, Studentenproteste und Feminismus. Zu all diesen Themen äußerte Arendt dezidierte Meinungen und Urteile, die noch heute voller Sprengkraft sind.
Angesichts einer wachsenden Pluralisierung unserer Lebenswelten, eines beschleunigten Wertewandels und eines darauf reagierenden Bedürfnisses nach populistischen Lösungen nimmt die Ausstellung die Ausbildung der Urteilskraft in den Blick.
