Predstavljanje projekta “The Cartography of the Political Novel in Europe” (HORIZON EUROPE)
Javno predstavljanje projekta The Cartography of the Political Novel in Europe (CAPONEU) – u kojem sudjeluju i povjesničari, o čemu ćemo još obavještavati – održat će se u petak, 17. veljače 2023. u Konferencijskoj dvorani Knjižnice (II. kat) Filozofskog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Zagrebu s početkom u 10 sati.
Događaj će se moći pratiti i online na poveznici.
Riječ je o projektu financiranom u sklopu programa Europske komisije HORIZON EUROPE ukupnog budžeta 3 milijuna eura, kojemu je koordinator istraživački tim s Filozofskog fakulteta. To je ujedno i najveći iznos ikad dodijeljen nekom projektu u hrvatskoj humanistici i prvi takav projekt u hrvatskoj znanosti o književnosti.
Uz zagrebačkog koordinatora u projektu sudjeluju i kolege sa Sveučilišta u Zadru i Instituta za političku ekologiju te s četiriju inozemnih sveučilišta (The University of Cambridge, The University of Brighton, Uniwersytet im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu, EDEX – University of Nicosia), jednog istraživačkog centra (GWZ – Geisteswissenschafliche Zentren Berlin), jednog think tanka (Autonomy London), jedne zadruge za digitalni kod i dizajn (Slobodna domena Zagreb) i savjetodavni odbor projekta sastavljen od kolega iz Južnoafričke Republike, Kenije, Kine, Indije, SAD-a, Brazila i Argentine. Na pojedinim aktivnostima pridružit će nam se i brojni dionici iz kulture, obrazovanja, politike i civilnog društva.
Cilj je projekta istražiti kako se politički roman, kao specifičan književni žanr, u različitim nacionalnim i kulturnim kontekstima nosi s političkim pitanjima te tako oblikuje percepciju lokalne i globalne politike. Na tragu povećanog interesa humanističke struke za političke učinke književnosti, politički će se roman motriti kao važan dio europskog kulturnog naslijeđa, ali i kao moćan alat za građanski odgoj i obrazovanje mladih, rad u lokalnoj zajednici te zagovaranje europskih vrijednosti.
Na predstavljanju će govoriti predstavnici Fakulteta, Agencije za mobilnost i programe EU, članovi projektnog konzorcija i Međunarodnog savjetodavnog odbora.

The CAPONEU kick-off
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the launch event of the HORIZON 2022 research and innovation project The Cartography of the Political Novel in Europe (CAPONEU), which will take place on February 17, 2023, at 10 a.m. CET at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb (conference hall) and online.
The CAPONEU project is an ambitious research initiative that aims to examine how a specific literary genre (political novel) in various national and cultural contexts deals with political issues and thereby shapes the perception of local and global politics. The CAPONEU’s goal is to assess the political novel as an important element of the European cultural heritage and as a tool for community building and European advocacy. The consortium brings together an interdisciplinary research team that seeks not only to unpack the rich literary heritage of the 20th century but also (through collaboration with a wide range of actors) to make the political novel experiences relevant to our present. This allows us to understand how perceptions formed by different beliefs, values, traditions, economy, history, culture, age and gender are reflected in the political novel, and how and why this literary genre re-emerges as a social factor today.
The event will feature a brief presentation of CAPONEU’s goals and ambitions, research and innovation activities, and participating institutions and organizations.
