The Cold War History Research Center is now accepting proposals for its 16th Annual\u00a0International Student Conference\u00a0to be\u00a0held at\u00a0Corvinus\u00a0University\u00a0of\u00a0Budapest\u00a0on\u00a0July 30\u201331,\u00a02026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conference will take place in Budapest, Hungary and organized\u00a0in collaboration\u00a0with the\u00a0\u00a0Cold War Archives Research Institute\u00a0and the\u00a0London School of Economics and Political Science, Department of International History, Contemporary International History and\u00a0The Cold War Studies Programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As was the case with our previous conferences, this year\u2019s Conference will focus on the Cold War era in general, and on the post-Cold War period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Possible topics may include (but are not limited to) the following sections:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– East Central Europe in the Cold War and its Aftermath<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– Hungary in the Cold War<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– Western Europe and the Cold War<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– The Soviet Union and the United States in the Cold War<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– Asia and Africa in the Cold War and its Aftermath <\/p>\n\n\n\n
– International Relations during the Cold War<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– International Relations in the post-Cold War era<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The deadline for proposal submission is May 15, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Selected participants will be asked to make a 20-minute presentation at the conference; a written paper is no requirement. Please note that in-person attendance at the conference is mandatory; online presentations are not permitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
