{"id":51466,"date":"2026-02-13T22:16:46","date_gmt":"2026-02-13T22:16:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/historiografija.hr\/?p=51466"},"modified":"2026-02-13T22:17:43","modified_gmt":"2026-02-13T22:17:43","slug":"cfp-brno-slavonic-studies-encounters-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/historiografija.hr\/?p=51466","title":{"rendered":"CfP: BRNO SLAVONIC STUDIES ENCOUNTERS (2026)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Department of Slavonic Studies at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">is organizing the international conference<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>BRNO SLAVONIC STUDIES ENCOUNTERS<\/strong><br><strong>on 18\u201319 November 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We cordially invite you to this international Slavonic studies conference, the inaugural edition of what we envision will become a&nbsp;biannual meeting of Czech and international Slavicists. This conference, building on the tradition of scholarly events organized by the Department of Slavonic Studies at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University in Brno, is characterized by its broad Slavonic studies and multidisciplinary approach. We welcome papers not only from philologists but also from historians, ethnologists, theatre and film studies experts, musicologists, and other experts whose work focuses on Slavonic languages, literatures, and cultures. Each edition of Brno Slavonic Studies Encounters will focus on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/slavistika.phil.muni.cz\/vyzkum-a-popularizace\/profilove-vyzkumne-okruhy\">major research areas of the Department of Slavonic Studies<\/a>. The inaugural conference will feature <a href=\"https:\/\/slavistikabrno.cz\/en\/sessions\/\">three sessions<\/a> and one <a href=\"https:\/\/slavistikabrno.cz\/en\/slavonic-cultures-in-the-european-context-developmental-artistic-and-intellectual-specifics\/\">workshop<\/a>. Papers may be given in any Slavonic language or in English. Presented papers that successfully go through the peer-review process will be published in an academic journal or an edited volume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants must attend the conference in person. You can register by submitting an <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/nFyoTW28XzBUuSoe7\">online form<\/a> by 30 May 2026. Decisions about paper acceptance will be sent out in June along with instructions for paying the conference fee and a&nbsp;list of hotels. Attendees will pay for their own accommodation.
