This lecture explores the aestheticisation and memorialisation of the 1992 atrocities committed in Prijedor, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Drawing on artworks that confront ethnic cleansing, it examines how creative practices serve not merely as imaginative products but as responses to historical violence. Through photography, literature, monuments, and other media, these works function as witnesses of past events, commemorative practices, and instruments of memory politics. They offer sensory experiences that mobilise both individual reflection and collective political action, keeping the voices of the silenced present in public memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Petra Hamer (1988) <\/strong>is an ethnologist and cultural anthropologist interested in popular music and culture in Southeastern Europe during the 20th and 21st centuries. She holds a PhD from the University of Graz, where she researched the production of popular music by Bosnian and Herzegovinian army artistic units, focusing on the question of national identity construction in a multi-ethnic society. Currently, she works as a postdoctoral researcher on the ERC project DEAGENCY \u2116 101095729, researching the role of the dead in the lives of individuals in contemporary Bosnian and Herzegovinian society, with a focus on mass graves, political changes, and violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Na Univerzitetu u Grazu \u0107e Petra Hamer odr\u017eati predavanje The Aestheticisation and Memorialisation of the 1992 Atrocities Committed in the Municipality of Prijedor, Bosnia and Herzegovina<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ovo predavanje istra\u017euje estetizaciju i memorijalizaciju zlo\u010dina po\u010dinjenih 1992. u Prijedoru, u Bosni i Hercegovini. Oslanjaju\u0107i se na umjetni\u010dka djela koja tematiziraju etni\u010dko \u010di\u0161\u0107enje, ispituje se kako kreativne prakse slu\u017ee ne samo kao imaginativni proizvodi ve\u0107 i kao odgovori na povijesno nasilje. Kroz fotografiju, knji\u017eevnost, spomenike i druge medije, ova djela funkcioniraju kao svjedoci pro\u0161lih doga\u0111aja, komemorativne prakse i instrumenti politike sje\u0107anja. Nude  iskustva koja mobiliziraju i individualnu refleksiju i kolektivno politi\u010dko djelovanje, odr\u017eavaju\u0107i glasove u\u0161utkanih prisutnima u javnom sje\u0107anju.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Petra Hamer (1988) je etnologinja i kulturna antropologinja koja se bavi popularnom muzikom i kulturom u jugoisto\u010dnoj Evropi tokom 20. i 21. stolje\u0107a. Doktorirala je na Univerzitetu u Grazu, gdje je istra\u017eivala produkciju popularne muzike umjetni\u010dkih jedinica bosanskohercegova\u010dke vojske, fokusiraju\u0107i se na pitanje konstrukcije nacionalnog identiteta u multietni\u010dkom dru\u0161tvu. Trenutno istra\u017euje ulogu mrtvih u \u017eivotima pojedinaca u savremenom bosanskohercegova\u010dkom dru\u0161tvu, s fokusom na masovne grobnice, politi\u010dke promjene i nasilje.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
