Parteien und Bewegungen der radikalen und extremen Rechten sind auf Erfolgskurs. Sie gewinnen Wahlen bilden Regierungen und beeinflussen \u00f6ffentliche Debatten. Rechtspopulistische Parteien, die vordergr\u00fcndig die Demokratie bejahen, ebnen Themen und Akteuren der \u00e4u\u00dfersten Rechten den Weg in Institutionen und Diskurse. Dort, wo sie an der Macht sind, werden die Demokratie und der Rechtsstaat in Mitleidenschaft gezogen. Der Politikwissenschaftler Marcel Lewandowsky zeichnet die Geschichte der Rechten nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg nach, erl\u00e4utert die Ursachen f\u00fcr ihre neuerlichen Erfolge und er\u00f6rtert ihre Auswirkungen auf die Demokratie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marcel Lewandowsky ist<\/strong> Privatdozent an der Helmut-Schmidt-Universit\u00e4t\/Universit\u00e4t der Bundeswehr Hamburg. Er forscht zu Demokratie, Populismus und Extremismus. Im Mai 2024 erschien sein Buch “Was Populisten wollen: Wie sie die Gesellschaft herausfordern \u2013 und wie man ihnen begegnen sollte”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
