{"id":45261,"date":"2025-03-12T22:58:43","date_gmt":"2025-03-12T22:58:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/historiografija.hr\/?p=45261"},"modified":"2025-03-12T22:58:43","modified_gmt":"2025-03-12T22:58:43","slug":"cfp-east-west-political-diplomatic-and-economic-co-operation-during-the-twentieth-century","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/historiografija.hr\/?p=45261","title":{"rendered":"CfP: East-West political, diplomatic and economic co-operation during the Twentieth Century"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>East-West political, diplomatic and economic co-operation during the Twentieth Century, 27 June, Cambridge University, UK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are soliciting papers for a workshop hosted at Hometon College, Cambridge University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event seeks to bring together researchers and former\/current diplomats interested in East-West co-operation during the Twentieth Century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop will facilitate academic discussions regarding inter-state co-operation through various channels but focusing on key mechanisms such as high-level meetings between state leaders, special envoys, and trade agreements, with a particular focus on the Cold War era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In particular, the event aims to explore how historical insights can inform and enhance contemporary policy-making, especially by assessing the effectiveness of summit diplomacy in achieving both geopolitical and economic goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the workshop seeks to establish a valuable academic and non-academic network, fostering future research and publication opportunities. Homerton College at Cambridge University will serve as the ideal venue to facilitate knowledge exchange among the participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We welcome applications from a wide range of social and historical sciences, as long as the papers take a historical approach and investigate East-West co-operation, broadly defined. This includes, but is not limited to, fields such as history, international relations, political science, political economy, and diplomatic studies. We especially encourage early-career scholars to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Food and drinks will be provided during the day. There will be limited funding available to help cover travelling costs for individuals without institutional support.
