The novel was first published in German as <em>Adas Raum<\/em> in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conversation will explore, among other things, the Afropolitan aspects of <em>Ada\u2019s Realm<\/em> and address the multiple intersectionalities \u2013 of class, race, gender, and disability \u2013 in Otoo\u2019s remarkable novel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event is being cohosted with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.daad.cam.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DAAD Research Hub for German Studies<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmll.cam.ac.uk\/german\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">German Department<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caponeu.eu\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CAPONEU project <\/a>(Cartography of the Political Novel in Europe) at the University of Cambridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the Speakers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sharon Dodua Otoo is a novelist and a political activist. She is editor of the English-language book series <em>Witnessed<\/em> and curates the German-language literature festival \u2018Resonanzen\u2019 (\u2018Resonances\u2019). Her first novel, <em>Adas Raum<\/em>, was published in German in 2021 and in English translation in 2023. Otoo won the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize in 2016, a major international literary award in German-speaking countries.
