Konferenciju su zajedni\u010dki organizirali Hrvatsko hagiografsko dru\u0161tvo &#8216;Hagiotheca&#8217; i Ma\u0111arsko hagiografsko dru\u0161tvo. Rimski sveci uvijek su bili me\u0111u naj\u010da\u0161\u0107enijim i najpopularnijim nebeskim za\u0161titnicima u kr\u0161\u0107anskom svijetu, usa\u0111uju\u0107i plemeniti ozra\u010dje univerzalnosti i integracije u novonastale kr\u0161\u0107anske kulture. Od apostola i ranokr\u0161\u0107anskih mu\u010denika preko srednjeg do ranog novog vijeka i dalje, tekstualna i materijalna diseminacija rimskih svetaca zna\u010dajno je utjecala na \u0161irenje i razvoj kulta svetaca uop\u0107e. Sveci koji su \u017eivjeli u Rimu (od Brigite \u0160vedske do Katarine Sijenske i od Francesce Ponziani do Filippa Nerija) bili su uzori u cijelom kr\u0161\u0107anskom svijetu.
