His book, <em><strong>One More For the Road &#8211; A Director&#8217;s Notes on Exile, Family and Film<\/strong><\/em> has just been published and is available for English readers in the U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rajkogrlic.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rajko Grli\u0107<\/a><\/strong> is the Ohio Eminent Scholar in Film at Ohio University. Previously, he has taught at New York University\u2019s Tisch School of the Arts. As an award-winning director, his films have been the subject of numerous scholarly and newspaper articles, and have screened at major film festivals including the Cannes Festival. (photo: Darije Petkovic)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Panelists<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/scholar.harvard.edu\/vidan\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Aida Vidan<\/a><\/strong> holds a Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and Literatures from Harvard University and currently teaches in the Department of International Literary and Cultural Studies at Tufts University. In addition, she serves as senior research faculty at the University of Maryland. She is a specialist in East European literatures and cultures and a documentary filmmaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/researchdirectory.uc.edu\/p\/ruckersu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sunnie Rucker-Chang<\/a><\/strong> is Associate Professor of Slavic and East European Studies and affiliate faculty in Women\u2019s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, Film and Media Studies, and the Nathaniel R. Jones Center for Race, Gender, and Social Justice at the University of Cincinnati. She is Director of the University of Cincinnati STARTALK Workforce Development Media &amp; Year-round Student Immersion Program, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Lead for the Institute for Research in Sensing at the University of Cincinnati. She works, writes, and teaches primarily on racial and cultural formations and minority-majority relations in Southeast Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucl.ac.uk\/ssees\/people\/eric-gordy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Eric Gordy<\/a><\/strong> is Professor of Political and Cultural Sociology at the School for Slavonic and East European Studies, University College London. His research concentrates on Southeast Europe, especially the states of the former Yugoslavia. He is the author of <em>The Culture of Power i Serbia: Nationalism and the Destruction of Alternatives<\/em> and <em>Guilt, Responsibility and Denial: The Past at Stake in Post-Milo\u0161evi\u0107<\/em> Serbia, and editor (with Adnan Efendi\u0107) of <em>Meaningful reform in the Western Balkans: Between formal institutions and informal practices<\/em>. He was coordinator and principal investigator for the Horizon 2020 research project <em>INFORM: Closing the Gap Between Formal and Informal Institutions in the Balkans<\/em>. (SSEES)(https:\/\/www.ucl.ac.uk\/ssees\/people\/eric-gordy).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/slavic.washington.edu\/people\/gordana-crnkovic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gordana P. Crnkovi\u0107<\/a><\/strong> is a Professor of Slavic and Comparative Literature, Cinema and Media at the University of Washington, Seattle. She is the author of <em>Imagined Dialogues: East European Literature in Conversation with American and English Literature<\/em>, <em>Post-Yugoslav Literature and Film: Fires, Foundations, Flourishes, and Literature<\/em> and <em>Film from East Europe\u2019s Forgotten \u201cSecond World\u201d: Essays of Invitation<\/em>. A native of Zagreb, Crnkovi\u0107 wrote and read texts of various genres for an experimental video on this city, Zagreb Everywhere, a collaboration with a Bay Area video artist Victor Ingrassia and a musician David Hahn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Moderator\/Host: Vera Mijojli\u0107 <\/strong>is a cultural producer who founded the South East European Film Festival, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/seefilmla.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>SEEfest<\/strong><\/a> in Los Angeles in 2006.
