The panel will be held via Zoom on <strong>Thursday, September 30th from 1:00-2:30 PM ET <\/strong>(Eastern Time) \/<strong> 7:00-8:30 PM CET<\/strong> (Central European Time).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thirty years following the collapse of communist regimes in Europe and of the Soviet Union itself, competing, even conflicting accounts of history are a regular feature of nation building processes in Central and Eastern Europe. The resulting &#8220;memory wars&#8221; offer an opportunity to analyze the relationship between history and contemporary national identity building projects.
