Obwohl Bosnien-Herzegowina und der Kosovo begonnen haben, sich mit ihrer Geschichte auseinanderzusetzen, bleibt geschlechtsspezifische Gewalt ein weit verbreitetes Problem. \u201emedica mondiale e. V.\u201c ist eine feministische Frauenrechtsorganisation, die ihre Arbeit 1993 mit der Gr\u00fcndung eines Zentrums f\u00fcr vom Krieg traumatisierte Frauen und M\u00e4dchen in der zentralbosnischen Stadt Zenica aufnahm. Auf Grundlage des in Bosnien entwickelten ganzheitlichen Ansatzes \u2013 gyn\u00e4kologische Versorgung, psychosoziale Beratung und Rechtshilfe \u2013 weitete \u201emedica mondiale\u201c in den Folgejahren ihr Engagement auf viele andere L\u00e4nder aus.
