The workshop is particularly interested in understanding how non-hegemonic actors constructed and promoted solidarity with Africa and its reception by the addressees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speakers:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Istv\u00e1n Tarr\u00f3sy <\/strong>(University of P\u00e9cs), Hungary-Africa Relations in the 1960s and 1970s: Socialist Solidarity and Pragmatism&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Eric Burton <\/strong>(University of Innsbruck), The pen and the gun. African liberation movements and two types of education in the socialist camp&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Gabriele Siracusano <\/strong>(Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa), Solidarity networks of Western communist lawyers in Francophone sub-Saharan Africa. From socialist to humanitarian engagement&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Nemanja Radonji\u0107 <\/strong>(Institute for Recent History of Serbia, Belgrade), Yugoslav solidarity with Africa \u2013 between the socialist and the nonaligned imaginary&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop will be held on ZOOM.
