Pritom autor za svaki roman uzima kao inspiracijsku podlogu stvarno povijesno razdoblje, doga\u0111aje i li\u010dnosti te na toj realnoj osnovi konstruira alternativni svijet. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"justify\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"justify\">U ovom je romanu obradio novovjekovnu povijest i me\u0111uodnose Mleta\u010dke Republike, Osmanskog Carstva, Dubrova\u010dke Republike te pitanje senjskih uskoka.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"justify\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"justify\">Knjiga je tematski zanimljiva zbog historiografskih i imagolo\u0161kih implikacija, budu\u0107i da primjenjuje provedena povijesna istra\u017eivanja. Tako likovi imaju autenti\u010dna imena, pa se \u010dak i izraz \u201egospar\u201c pojavljuje upravo u tom obliku.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"justify\">O\u010dito iz jezi\u010dnih razloga, kori\u0161tena literatura mahom je britanskih i ameri\u010dkih povjesni\u010dara koji su se bavili uskocima i povije\u0161\u0107u Dubrovnika.
