Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht Verlage je ovih dana objavio zbornik nau\u010dnih radova pod naslovom \u201eScience and Empire in Eastern Europe. Imperial Russia and the Habsburg Monarchy in the 19th Century\u201c koju je uredio dr. Jan Arend, nau\u010dni saradnik na Odjeljenju za historiju isto\u010dne i jugoisto\u010dne Evrope na Ludwig-Maximilians-Universit\u00e4t u Minhenu.<\/p>\n

Nauka se u Zapadnoj Evropi tokom 19. stolje\u0107a razvijala u kontestu izrastanja nacionalnih dr\u017eava. U isto\u010dnoj i srednje-isto\u010dnoj Evropi, me\u0111utim, nauka se razvijala u imperijalnim okvirima Habsur\u0161ke Monarhije i Caristi\u010dke Rusije. Imperijalna obilje\u017eja ovih dr\u017eava (multinacionalnost, jezi\u010dka razli\u010ditost i velika polarizacija izme\u0111u centra i periferije), stvorila su specifi\u010dne uslove za nauku. Uzimaju\u0107i ovo zapa\u017eanje kao polazi\u0161nu ta\u010dku, ovaj zbornik obra\u0111uje me\u0111usobnu interakciju nauke i carstva u carskoj Rusiji i Habsbur\u0161koj monarhiji u komparativnom okviru.<\/p>\n

Za nas je posebno va\u017ean \u010dlanak Danijela Bari\u0107a u kojem se na primjeru Carla Pacha i njegova djelovanja u Sarajevu 1891-1918 obra\u0111uje nau\u010dna politika Habsbur\u0161ke monarhije u Bosni i Hercegovini.<\/p>\n
