This interest prompted attempts at re-examination of engaged women activists in relation to official Communist women\u2019s organizations. Our symposium will evaluate the work of Lydia Sklevicky (1952-1990), the founding mother of research in women\u2019s experiences under communism. Our aim is to stimulate a fruitful discussion of new scholarly contributions to the research of women\u2019s activities in the period of Communist rule.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We invite interested scholars\u00a0in history, anthropology, sociology, and related fields to e-mail their brief abstracts by the March 22, 2020 to: <a href=\"mailto:feldman.andrea@gmail.com\">feldman.andrea@gmail.com<\/a>, <a href=\"mailto:mari.kardum@gmail.com\">mari.kardum@gmail.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The participants are encouraged to frame the discussion around the following questions: How important was the phenomenon of \u201cautonomy\u201d in women\u2019s history studies of the Communist period? Was there women\u2019s \u201cagency\u201d in state socialism and can the Communist state\u2019s \u201cpro-women\u201d or women-friendly activities be considered feminist? Did the position of women in state socialism reflect the success of official, top-down state policies toward all women, regardless of their class, ethnic\/national, or any other affiliation, or were these policies camouflaging the fake universality in their so-called \u201csuccessful solution of the woman\u2019s question\u201d? Have political and economic circumstances of post-socialist development created the base for a revisionist, i.e. more positive interpretations of relations between the state and \u201cthe woman\u2019s question\u201d before the turn to transition? <em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The symposium will be held at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Teacher Education on MAY 7, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mmz.ufzg.hr\/symposium-women-and-communism-in-yugoslavia\/\">http:\/\/mmz.ufzg.hr\/symposium-women-and-communism-in-yugoslavia\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>SIMPOZIJ <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Istra\u017eiva\u010dkoga projekta <em>Moderne misle\u0107e \u017eene: intelektualni razvoj \u017eena u Hrvatskoj 20. stolje\u0107a<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u017dENE I KOMUNIZAM \u2013 Hommage Lydiji SKLEVICKY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>U posljednjem desetlje\u0107u primje\u0107uje se porast zanimanja za istra\u017eivanje odnosa \u017eena i komunizma, odnosno za revalorizaciju uloga dru\u0161tvenih i politi\u010dkih aktivistkinja i \u017eenskih organizacija u komunisti\u010dkoj Jugoslaviji, ali i u ostalim biv\u0161im komunisti\u010dkim zemljama u regiji. Ovim simpozijem \u017eelimo iznova vrednovati ulogu Lydije Sklevicky (1952-1990) u postavljanju temelja za prou\u010davanje iskustva \u017eena u komunisti\u010dkome re\u017eimu i potaknuti raspravu o novim doprinosima u istra\u017eivanju \u017eenskih aktivnosti u komunizmu.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Pozivamo stru\u010dnjake\/inje koji\/e se zanimaju za povijesna, antropolo\u0161ka, sociolo\u0161ka i druga istra\u017eivanja ovih fenomena da nam do 22. o\u017eujka po\u0161alju kratke sa\u017eetke svojih izlaganja e-po\u0161tom na: <a href=\"mailto:feldman.andrea@gmail.com\">feldman.andrea@gmail.com<\/a>, <a href=\"mailto:mari.kardum@gmail.com\">mari.kardum@gmail.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Smatramo poticajnim poku\u0161ati u raspravi odgovoriti na sljede\u0107a pitanja: Koliko je va\u017ean fenomen autonomije u istra\u017eivanju \u017eenske povijesti socijalizma? Je li mogu\u0107nost samostalnoga, neovisnoga djelovanja klju\u010dan element kojim se pojave i odnosi \u017eena prema dr\u017eavnom socijalizmu smatraju feministi\u010dkima? Je li polo\u017eaj \u017eena u socijalisti\u010dkom dru\u0161tvu odra\u017eavao uspje\u0161no provo\u0111enje dr\u017eavnih politika s najvi\u0161ih mjesta u dru\u0161tvenoj hijerahiji, ili la\u017enu univerzalnost tzv. rje\u0161enja \u201c\u017eenskog\u201c pitanja?
