{"id":15099,"date":"2019-06-04T10:20:13","date_gmt":"2019-06-04T10:20:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/historiografija.hr\/?p=15099"},"modified":"2019-06-04T10:20:53","modified_gmt":"2019-06-04T10:20:53","slug":"international-conference-cultural-memory-of-the-spanish-civil-war-rijeka-june-05-06-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/historiografija.hr\/?p=15099","title":{"rendered":"International Conference \u201cCultural Memory of the Spanish Civil War\u201d (Rijeka, June 05-06, 2019)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Me\u0111unarodna konferencija \u201cCultural Memory of the Spanish Civil War\u201d odr\u017eat \u0107e se 5. i 6. lipnja 2019. godine u Rijeci.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cultural Memory of the Spanish Civil War<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>International Conference<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The two-day conference aims to provide a general insight into the Spanish Civil War, highlighting newer research on the cultural memory of the conflict;<\/li>\n<li>The program will focus especially on the international repercussions, on the Croatian participation in the war and on the role of the International Brigades;<\/li>\n<li>Organized in collaboration with the CRAI Library of the Republic Pavillion of the University of Barcelona and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Rijeka, the conference will be complemented with an exhibition that will occupy the main pedestrian area of Rijeka and the University campus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The international conference \u201cCultural Memory of the Spanish Civil War\u201d will be held at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka, Croatia (University of Rijeka), and the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Coast from 5 \u2013 6 June 2019. The conference aims to present newer research on the cultural memory of the Spanish Civil War in European and Croatian historical contexts, providing a general insight into the conflict on the 80th anniversary of its end. It will highlight international repercussions, as well as Croatian participation in the conflict.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>An exhibition about the International Brigades, based on a recent research carried out by Spanish and Croatian scholars and students, will be displayed in September in Rijeka\u2019s main pedestrian area as part of the 27 Neighborhoods flagship.
