From a dual perspective of how women were seen by the Usta\u0161a and which roles they actually played, the author explores which feminine ideals were propagated by the Usta\u0161a state and to what extent women fulfilled them. Interviews with prominent members of the Usta\u0161a Movement have furthermore shed light on how female supporters of the Usta\u0161a Movement look back on and evaluate their past.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n About The Author<\/strong><\/p>\n Martina Bitunjac holds a Ph.D. in modern history and in the history of Europe from the Humboldt University of Berlin respectively the Sapienza University of Rome. She is working as a researcher and is the managing editor of the \u00bbJournal of Religious and Cultural Studies \/ Zeitschrift f\u00fcr Religions- und Geistesgeschichte\u00ab at the Moses Mendelssohn Center for European-Jewish Studies. She is also a docent at the University of Potsdam.
